The Hario Slims and Skertons are great grinders, but if they are the Toyota of hand grinders, then the Porlex grinders are the Infinitis. And the latest updates take the Porlex to the next level! The Porlex grinders have now been updated with:
- A new patented design of connector that prevents any slippage from the handle and no wear.
- A perfectly circular outer burr which produces a more consistent grind throughout the entire range of grind.
- Laser etched burrs to show that only premium Porlex burrs are used in the grinder.
As with its bigger brother, the Porlex Tall, this grinder has ceramic burrs and a stainless steel housing, which not only makes it easy to clean, but more resilient than glass versions, and produces less static than plastic versions.
The conical ceramic burrs don't rust, are easy to clean and stay sharper for much longer than steel burrs. So what differentiates this from the Tall? Well, the name gives that away: at 130mm height it's 55mm shorter. It also has a rubber grip that makes grinding even easier and allows you to attach the handle to the side of the grinder housing when detached. This model fits nicely into an AeroPress with the band removed.
As the burrs are exactly the same as in the Tall, it copes well with everything you can throw at it - from Turkish to French Press grind setting - and thanks to an easily accessible locking nut, is really easy to adjust. But the thing that sets this apart from other hand grinders is the speed and ease of grind. This is down to a couple of features: a long steel handle that connects solidly to the grinder and the ability to hold the grinder steadily in one hand while turning the handle with the other
The Baratza ENCORE features 40 individual grind settings, from fine to coarse, easily pleasing any palate with its gamut of accurate and repeatable grind settings.
The Encore has an accurate medium to coarse grind for the popular manual brew methods such as Aeropress, Hario V60, and Chemex. The specially designed burrs give a precise grind with minimal fines for a flavorful, balanced extraction when making espresso.
The Encore is built with the quality Baratza parts you’ve come to trust. The efficient DC motor keeps beans cool, even during extended grind times; while a combination of electric and gear speed reducers slow the burr to 450 RPM, ensuring a smooth bean feed and reducing noise, heat and static buildup.
Beyond a great coffee-drinking experience, the Encore makes for a great coffee-making experience. A convenient, front-mounted pulse button makes it easy to grind on demand into your brew basket. Whether you are looking for an espresso grinder or a grinder to help you explore that extensive range of brew methods, the Encore is a great all around home grinder.
Baratza handles all warranty and service for their products.
The Virtuoso lives up to its name by providing technical skill, classic style and a consistent, quality grind.Grinding for espresso? Let the Virtuoso’s professional-grade 40mm conical burrs perform their magic for a consistent, fine grind. How about a French Press? The Virtuoso can handle that too, with a particle size uniformity that gives you consistency from cup to cup. In fact, the Virtuoso is so consistent at both the coarse and fine ends of the grind range that we consider it to be in a class all by itself — and so do many of the micro- and specialty-roasters who swear by it. The secret to the Virtuoso’s consistent, smooth grind is two-fold: an efficient DC motor keeps your beans cool, even during extended grind times, while a combination of electric and gear speed reducers slow the burr to 450 RPM, ensuring a smooth bean feed and reducing noise, heat and static buildup. The Virtuoso’s exterior is just as finely tuned as its interior — a convenient front-mounted pulse button allows for grinding directly into an espresso filter basket, while a 60-second timer means that it’s easy to replicate the ideal grind time. With the Virtuoso, the look goes beyond merely functional. A sculptured metal top and base give this grinder an expensive, elegant image that adds a sense of class and quality to kitchen counters and coffee shop workspaces alike. When you want it all, the Virtuoso is the grinder that will get you there with function, elegance, and style.

The Eureka Mignon doserless grinder brings commercial build quality to the compact grinder market at an affordable price. This grinder has the longevity and presence to match your high end espresso machine, and it may be small, but it's a real work horse.
Commercial quality flat steel burrs and micrometric stepless grind adjustment result in a precise consistency that will be difficult to match with other grinders in this class. With the Eureka Mignon, the coffee dose is dispensed directly into the portafilter, and can be activated manually as an on-demand grinder or set to dispense a specific amount using its built-in timer. The portafilter fork adjusts easily to the height you need so you can set the timer, hook in the portafilter, and walk away confident that the correct amount of coffee will be waiting for you when you return.
The Mignon is one of the only grinders that can be easily opened for routine cleaning without altering your grind setting. Simply remove three screws from the top plate to access the burrs, with no need to re-calibrate afterwards. Adjusting the grind setting will move the lower burr, so unlike other models you do not have to worry about tracks or threads becoming plugged.
