Thursday, July 5: "Distorted Tourist" Photobook Launch

The ACE Cafe will turn into an art gallery for the night, where local multimedia artist Mark Templeton will be showcasing his recently released photobook (+ flexidisk records) "Distorted Tourist". The visuals and recordings were all taken in the Strathcona area.

Stemming from routine drives across industrial-commercial areas near the artist’s neighborhood, each photograph captures, mid-fall, the familiar and uncanny spaces of dislocated urban decay — monuments to the failures of modernity. Rather than attractions, the tourist here bears witness to the inevitability of moths and rust.

Bar and coffee service at the event, runs 7-9pm. No tickets required.

Saturday, June 23: Live Jazz Quartet

Come on down to the cafe on Saturday and be serenaded by a live jazz quartet! As part of Sugar Swing Ballroom's Solstice Festival, there will be music and dancing from 1pm-close right on our patio. No tickets required.

All events are at our 10055 80 Ave NW Edmonton location unless otherwise noted. For information on doing an event in our space please contact
