Preperation
- Have a kettle ready with at least 1000 ml of water, a scale and a grinder.
- We will be setting our kettle for 96℃ degrees.
Brewing
Weigh out 25 grams of coffee and grind it on a medium-coarse setting.
Rinse the filter with hot water. Chemex filters are 25% thicker than other options, so LOTS of water is needed.
After removing the water, place the ground coffee into the filter.
Add 75ml of water and let it bloom for 30 seconds. At 30 seconds, use a spoon to agitate the grounds for further saturation.
We will slowly add water in a circular motion until the scale reads 400ml for a continuous pour. Your arm will tire, but the coffee will be worth it!
Give it a gentle stir around the edges, making a half circle in each direction.
When its done draining, you can discard the filter or compost it.
Serve it up and enjoy! |
